Felixstowe

For the foreseeable future I am living and working in a small UK seaside
town which goes by the name of Felixstowe. I wasn't sure about coming
here but Mr Handsome's work dictated that we do so. A lucky accident
indeed. I love the gritty real life ambiance of this town with it's working
shipping container port and quaint seafront with colourful beach huts.
We have made some lovely friendships and I have opened a small concept
studio/shop here - happily it has been well received and I am daily astonished
at the diverse range of talented, creative and alternative people that pop by
and populate the county of Suffolk.

Having 'a real' shop is fun but naturally it isn't portable
thus I am once again working on an online store.
It is called 'After Antoinette' and combines my passion
for sourcing and selling vintage and
showcases/sells my Art.

Today I listed this bonkers donkey!

Cheerio for now.

been a while and a rebrand

It has been virtually 10 months since last I posted on this here blog of mine,
and an awful lot has happened - mostly good I'm happy to say.
I wonder what has become of all my virtual friends? and hope that life
has been kind to all of you?

Today I will not bore you with the recent developments in my life.
I think a slow reveal in the coming weeks will be of more value to those
of you who may still care?

Suffice to say that after this extended break I have reassessed my
direction and efforts and the result is a rebranding.

Odd and Old has evolved into After Antoinette and I no longer
have my Etsy store but have launched a dot com instead.

www.afterantoinette.com

I am working hard on my art and still selling vintage in a real live shop.

Life is good.

homesick

I am missing home, although technically I guess that I am home.
Born in London but out of the country for 12 years and London no
longer has a hold over me. With age and absence the big city lights
shine less bright. Certainly I have changed.

Here is a list of the things that I miss from home, Spain, since
returning to the UK:

Storm. My lost miniature Schnauzer. The light.
The warmth. The sun. The beach. The landscape. Spanish ham.

Simple pleasures/simple living/simple life.

If you were in a similar situation what do you think you would miss most?

surprise

Cor blimey guvnor the old currant is out today in London...

For all you non Londoners out there what do you think the above means?

{It is cockney rhyming slang which originates from the East End of London.
To be a real London cockney you have to be born within the sound of
Bow bells; a landmark East End London church}.
