idle thought...

we all love a holiday
but none as much as the french

apart from food and the 35 hr week
no subject is closer to their heart

in february they ski
in may they start to anticipate
and in august they mass exodus

in england everything stops for tea

in france everything stops for the month of august

i am unable to figure out how a country
can literally close shop at midday everyday and
every year in august operate at 50% capacity
and still remain afloat
...

it's a good sign - mais non? - that in an era where working harder and longer is seen as better. Somewhere along the line they may just have got their work/life balance...well, balanced! :)
